Week 3 Continued

Perhaps one of the biggest blowout games happed this week. It was the Chief's game against the New York Jets. The final score was three to twenty-four. This win is all thanks to the Chief's defense because they had one fumble recovery for a touchdown, and six interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Their defense scored twice as many touchdowns as their offense. This win only came because their defense came to play. The Chief's offense did not look as good as it normally does.

Another exciting game was the Broncos game. This game was won thanks to the offense, which is completely opposite compared to last week when it was all because of the defense. Denver's defense did have a key interception that set up for touchdown, but it was their offense that shined in this game. Trevor Siemian made history in his road game debut as a starting quarterback, he became the first starting quarterback to throw four touchdown passes and over three-hundred passing yards in his first road game in his career. This game as definitely showed that the Broncos have a tough defense and offense this year. It will be interesting to watch Siemian the rest of year. The final score of this game was twenty-nine to seventeen.

Currently in the AFC West division the Broncos are on top at 3-0. Then the Chiefs and Raiders are tied at 2-1. And at the bottom is the Chargers at 1-2. It is going to be a close year again for this division.

Week 3

In the third week of the NFL there were some more close and exciting games like the Raiders game. The Raiders game was against the Tennessee Titans. The Raiders won their game, and the final score was seventeen to ten. They won this game despite not scoring in the second half at all. It was surprising to only see Derek Carr throw one touchdown pass in the whole game for the Raiders. This week the main reason Oakland won was because their defense was able to get to interceptions, and keep the Titans' offense off the field. The Raiders defense looked really good this week.

Yet another close game, in a season that is proving to be close, nail-biting games the San Diego Chargers lost to the Indianapolis Colts. The final score was twenty-two to twenty-six. The only reason why the Chargers were even still in this game towards the end was because of their defense. Their defense got an interception, and returned a forced fumble sixty-one yards for a touchdown, this tied the score at halftime. At the end of the third quarter it was only a one point game. This game could have ended differently if Philip Rivers had at least one touchdown pass.

Overall, this is definitely turning out to be a close and interesting football season.

Week 2 Continued

The Chiefs and the Broncos Games

The Chiefs did not have a great game this week. They lost to the Texans nineteen to twelve, despite having to interceptions in the game. The Chiefs' defense definitely showed up for the game when their offense didn't. This was a low-scoring game, and it was just one of those off games that every team has, and I am sure that the Chiefs are going to bounce back from this loss next week.

The Broncos managed to stay undefeated this week against the Colts. They beat the Colts thirty-four to twenty. This game was a great game to watch, and it was close up to the very end. At the end of the first half the Broncos led thirteen to six, so it was just a seven point difference. It was not until the fourth quarter that the Broncos' defense scored two touchdowns. They scored a touchdown off of a forced fumble and a forty-six yard interception return for a touchdown. In this game the Broncos showed just how tough their defense was forcing a couple fumbles, getting an interception, and also sacking the Colts quarterback (Andrew Luck) several times. Here are some YouTube videos of the two touchdowns that the Broncos' defense scored.

Week 2

The Raiders and Chargers Games

The San Diego Chargers were able to find their rhythm this week, as they faced off against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chargers won thirty-eight to fourteen. A huge part of this win is due to the fact that Philip Rivers threw four touchdown passes in the game. This game was a huge success for the Chargers, especially coming of their loss last week to the Chiefs. Not only did Rivers throw four touchdown passes, but the Chargers' defense also found success against this Jaguar offense because they managed to walk away with two interceptions.

The Oakland Raiders had a harder week than the Chargers did, unfortunately. The Raiders played the Falcons this week, and the Falcons won thirty-five to twenty-eight. This was a close game, and it came down to the last minute. The game started with neither team scoring in the first quarter, so it looked like it would be a relatively slow and low-scoring game. It was not until the second quarter that the Falcons scored thirteen and the Raiders scored seven, that it became a interesting game. The game came down to the last couple of minutes because all that the Raiders needed was one touchdown to tie the game and send it to overtime, but the Falcons' defense was able to come up with a stop and clinch the win for their team. Both of these teams played really well. Both of the quarterbacks on both teams had three touchdown passes each, and the Raiders defense came away with an interception. This was one of the most stressful games of the week.

Week 1 Continued

Raiders vs. Saints

This game was another one this week that was really close. It came down to just one point. This game was between the New Orleans Saints and the Oakland Raiders.

This game had a few lead changes, which is what makes up an exciting game. The first quarter ended with the Raiders in the lead ten to three. Then the Saints came back with two touchdowns in the second quarter changing the lead. At halftime the score was ten to seventeen with the Saints in the lead. In the third quarter, the Raiders only scored three points and the Saints only scored seven points. The fourth quarter was tight. The Saints only were able to score ten points, and the Raiders scored twenty-two points. The final score ended up being thirty-five to thirty-four with the Raiders winning.

This game again is a perfect example that anything can happen in the NFL because the Raiders were able to win even though Drew Brees threw four touchdown passes for the Saints. I cannot wait for the games next week. It looks like this year is going to be an exciting year in the NFL.

Week 1

Chiefs vs. Chargers

This game was an intense game. It started as what might be thought of as a blowout, and then the team behind came back to win it. These two teams are rivals in the same division, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Diego Chargers, so these kinds of games are always intensified even more than normal games.

Kansas City started the game with possession of the football. The Chief's opening drive ended with a field goal. After that score in the first quarter, only the Chargers scored a touchdown in the first. when the second quarter came around, only the Chargers scored two touchdowns. At halftime the score was San Diego twenty-one and Kansas City three. In the third quarter the Chiefs scored a touchdown and held the Chargers at only a field goal for the entire quarter. In the final quarter the Chiefs came back from a seventeen point deficit to tie the score at twenty-seven to twenty-seven. The Chiefs scored seventeen points in the fourth quarter. This game went into overtime. The Chiefs started the overtime period with the ball, and they drove it all the way down the field for a touchdown. This in turn won the game.

This was an exciting game. It is always awesome to see a team that has been down the entire game come back from a huge deficit and win the game. This shows that anything can happen in the game of football.

Opening Game of the Season!

As I am sure many of you know, the opening game of the NFL was last Thursday (September 8). This game is being called "Super bowl: The Sequel" because it was between the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. It was an extremely close game. However, the main focus on this game was the quarterback matchup because Carolina had a veteran player (Cam Newton) at that position while Denver had a rookie (Trevor Siemian) playing for the first time. It was fun to watch this matchup.

Enough of this preliminary talk though. It is time to get to the recap. The first quarter started with Denver having position of the ball. Trevor Siemian had what looked like a good starting drive until it ended in an interception. From this point on the game started to turn in the favor of Carolina because Cam Newton came onto the field and lead his team on a touchdown drive. The second quarter was rougher for Denver, they only scored seven points to Carolina's ten. At halftime the score was Carolina seventeen and Denver seven. Nothing really happened in the third quarter, so I will not talk about it. Finally, the fourth quarter came around and with it came a turning point for the Denver team. The Broncos scored fourteen points in that final quarter thanks to a lot of good plays from their defense. The defense was getting sack after sack, and they got one interception. Denver's defense held Carolina to only three points in the fourth quarter. Denver ended up winning the game twenty-one to twenty.

Welcome to the Fan Spot

Hello, are you a fan of football? Do you like any football team that is in the AFC West Division of the NFL. If you answered yes to either of these questions then this is the right website to be on because I am going to being talking about the four teams in the AFC West Division. I am going to be giving recaps on the games in these divisions, and also I will be talking about any current news regarding suspensions or injuries on any of these four teams.

Football has always been something that I have been interested in. I have been watching football since I was a little kid in about fourth grade, and now I am in college. I am also a fan of fantasy football as well. I cannot wait to get started.
