Week 5 Continued

The Broncos and Chiefs games

In week five the Denver Broncos were matched up against the Atlanta Falcons in Denver, Colorado. This was a monumental game for the Broncos because since their starting quarterback, Trevor Siemian, was injured they had to start their rookie quarterback, Paxton Lynch, for the first time. Paxton Lynch had an okay performance at is first NFL start, but it was not the best performance that he could have hoped for. Lynch threw for 223 passing yards and one touchdown; however, he also did throw an interception as well. This was a rough game for the Broncos, they were not able to find any rhythm on offense until the fourth quarter, which by that time it was too late. The Falcons played an altogether more well-rounded game against Denver. Atlanta was able to have success on offense and defense. Their offense found success throwing the football for 267 yards and a touchdown, and they found success by rushing the football for 122 yards and another touchdown. Atlanta's defense also looked really impressive this week by keeping the Denver at only three points at halftime, and by also getting an interception. Overall I think that the real credit for this win goes to the Falcon's kicker, Matt Bryant. He three field goals adding to his team's growing lead. Overall, this was a great game for the Falcons, and a rough start to a long career for Paxton Lynch. The final score was Atlanta winning 23-16, and giving Denver their first loss of the season.

This was also the week that the Kansas City Chiefs had their bye week, so they did not play a game this week.

  1. This week was very surprising, I did not think that the Broncos would lose this one.
