Week 8

Chiefs and Raiders Games

In Week 8 of the season the Chiefs went to Indianapolis where they played the Colts. This was a hard fought game for the Chiefs because in the middle of the second quarter their quarterback, Alex Smith, was injured and Nick Foles had to come out on to the field to finish the game at the position. This was a game that every Chiefs player wanted to win seeing how they all came out to play. First, the Chiefs defense did a great job intercepting Andrew Luck and forcing a fumble. Those two turnovers that the Chiefs got helped to secure a victory for the game. It also helped that Nick Foles came out and threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns. This was a phenomenal game and it shows that a well rounded team in a game can win. The final score was Chiefs up 30-14.

Here is a picture of the fumble that the Chiefs defense forced.

The Raiders played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers these week. This was another one of those close game this year, and it was yet another game this year to go into overtime. The main factor in this game was Derek Carr. He was on fire this week. He completed 40 of 59 passes and he threw for 513 passing yards. He also threw 4 touchdown passes. These are the numbers of an elite quarterback, and that is the factor that carried the Raiders away with win. The Raiders vetern quarterback managed to have more ease moving the ball compared to the Bucs second-year quarterback. The final score in overtime was the Raiders coming away with a 30-24 win in Tampa Bay.
